How Do You Spell That Name?

Q I have trouble remembering names, and when I go to meetings I often run into people I know well and stop to chat, but when I have to introduce them my mind goes blank, especially on last names. What do I do?
Ans. Be honest and say, "Forgive me but I'm having a "forgetful moment". Please help me with your name." It's not just a "senior moment". It happens to everyone. In fact, one friend told me she always used to say, "And how do you spell your name again??" Then one person answered, "With two ells.'' Now she simply admits her weakness. It's not a crime and most people understand because it's happened to them.
