'You Can't Fire Everyone!'

Q. I am appalled at the emails I receive all day at the office from my company email connection and from those of other companies. Don't people realize that's dangerous and that they can really be fired if the supervisors decide to do a cruise through company emails one afternoon and see you slammed them in an email??? Warn people never to do that.

Ans. We can't say it enough, but you've said it again for us. Meanwhile, Hank Gilman, the wickedly-funny deputy managing editor of Fortune Magazine, adds in his witty new book, You Can't Fire Everyone and Other Lessons from an Accidental Manager  notes a famous quote from Eliot Spitzer when he was NY prosecutor, "Never talk when you can nod. And never nod when you can wink. And never write an email because it's death. You're giving prosecutors all the evidence we need."
